The Mentors Behind The Journey.

When people talk about entrepreneurship, they often focus on the results: the business, the sales, the growth, the accomplishments. But what people don’t usually see is what goes into building the results. The people invested in the business, and the mentors who are working behind the scenes to help guide the business to where it needs to be, who help guide you through the moments when you’re unsure, overwhelmed, or still trying to figure things out.

As a young entrepreneur, building an all-natural soap business, I have learned very quickly that success is never something you can possibly accomplish on your own. It takes people who believe in you before you believe in yourself. It takes conversations, encouragement, advice, patience, and people willing to pour into you even when you’re still learning.

I’m so incredibly grateful for the women who have been those mentors to me throughout my journey. There is something so special and ultimately powerful about being surrounded by women who genuinely want to see you grow and succeed. Their guidance has not only shaped my business into what it is today and what it will be, but these women have also shaped me as a person.

One person who has been especially important in the growth of my business is Jenelle.

She’s helped us in so many ways, and to say that Sister Soaps would not be the business it is today without her, would be an understatement. From helping us build our business plan to guiding us through important decisions and helping us navigate our next steps, her support and investment in our business has meant so much to us. Starting and growing a business at a young age comes with challenges that most people don’t see. There are moments of uncertainty, setbacks, and figuring things out as you go. Through all of that, Jenelle has remained patient, encouraging, and willing to help us work through each obstacle instead of letting it discourage us.

Another woman who has truly poured into me throughout this journey is Michelle Parish with Kineo Coffee. Michelle has encouraged my growth not only as a business owner, but as a person. She’s recommended business books that have helped expand my mindset and understanding, and she has taken the time to introduce me to other business owners and bring me to networking events where I’ve been able to learn from and connect with so many inspiring people. Having someone willing to invest their time into helping me grow has meant more than I can put into words.

Having someone who not only offers advice but truly invests their time and energy into helping us grow is something I’ll never take for granted. As our business continues to grow, I’m realizing more and more how important it is to have people around you who inspire you, challenge you, and genuinely care about you as a person. I hope one day I can pour into other young entrepreneurs the same way so many incredible women have poured into me. I’ll always be grateful for the people who helped guide us along the way.

Love, Alexi
